I’ve just passed Excel at the Core level for Microsoft Specialist. It feels great to be able to retrain at the age of 51 but in a highly skilled workforce I am probably just a pee-on. However after cleaning houses and apartments for 20 years I think I am doing great. My job hunting continues with no luck. A lot of doom and gloom is circulating in the media but our particular little lives are moving along just fine. Meanwhile I am learning every day. I am doing manual accounts as a prequisite to computerised accounts. At least this is familiar territory and I quite enjoy it and could see myself doing a/cs for a living. This is ironic as I trained in this field when I left school all those years ago.
Cesar and the kids ran into trouble with some local farmers on their dirt bike activities. The farmers claimed they were compromising their grazing rights. They called a few friends who looked a bit rough and Cesar thought blood might get spilled i.e. his. They had to come home with their bikes and we are now again looking for a place for them to go. They were quite broken-hearted and I feel bad for them.
Meanwhile we will be here a year this weekend. It flew but it has been great. I feel it is a big success and can only get better. Cesar and the boys are going to DC to stay with his mum for three weeks in July but I will stay here. The weather is cold about 60 and there is some rain but the days are long and the air is crisp and fresh
